Campus Crime Report

Theft € October 26 -- A male University student reported that he hung his backpack on a tree branch while unloading his car on the 200 block of South 36th Street at about 12:30 a.m. When he returned to his car, the backpack, which contained a wallet and several credit cards, was gone. The value of the backpack's contents is unknown.

€ October 25 -- Police observed a man cutting the cable lock off a bicycle secured to a rack in front of the Van Pelt Library at 3420 Walnut Street. Police arrested William Downing of the 800 block of North Taylor Street.

€ October 24 -- A female patient at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 3400 Spruce Street reported that her change purse was taken from the pocket of her unattended shirt between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. The purse contained $1 in cash and several credit cards.

€ October 24 -- A woman affiliated with the University reported that she parked her car on the 200 block of South 33rd Street at about 3:30 p.m. When she returned, the passenger window had been broken and her laptop computer, valued at $2,050, was missing.

€ October 24 -- A female University student reported that the brakes and reflectors were taken from her bicycle, which was secured on the 3900 block of Irving Street, between October 19 and October 24. The value of the missing parts is unknown.

€ October 24 -- A female University student reported that her unattended backpack was taken from the sixth floor of the Van Pelt Library at about 5 p.m. The backpack contained a credit card and $30 in cash.

€ October 23 -- A male University employee reported that six Pentium III processors and a hard drive were taken from a secured office in the Graduate Research Wing at 200 S. 33rd Street between October 20 and October 23. The missing items were valued together at $4,299.

€ October 23 -- A female University student reported that her wallet was taken from her unsecured, unattended backpack in Houston Hall at 3417 Spruce Street between 12:10 p.m. and 12:20 p.m. The wallet contained $40 in cash.
