Robbery €A man unaffiliated with the University reported that two men hit him in the back of the head at 38th and Spruce streets, knocking him to the ground at about 10:30 a.m. The man sustained jaw injuries, and the two men took $40 in cash from him.
Theft € September 6 -- An employee of the Penn Bookstore at 3601 Walnut Street stopped a male University student for removing the wrappers from CDs and slipping them into his bag. The employee found $96.95 worth of CDs in the bag, and police arrested the 19-year-old student for shoplifting.
€September 6 -- A male University employee reported that his wallet was stolen from an unsecured and unattended room in Blockley Hall at 418 Guardian Drive. The wallet contained $50 in cash.
€September 6 -- A female University student reported that she left her wallet unattended for a few minutes at about 12:30 p.m. in Van Pelt Library at 3420 Walnut Street. When she returned, four credit cards had been taken.
€ September 5 -- A female University student reported that several personal items were taken while left unattended inside Sansom Place East at 3650 Chestnut Street. The items taken were 200 Mellon Bank checks, a camera, a toaster, a computer mouse and a cordless telephone. The items were valued at $250.
