Ivy League honors Langel, Caramanico The Ivy men's Player of the Week, Penn senior co-captain Matt Langel, scored 24 points in the Penn men's 83-48 victory at Brown on Saturday night. He shot 8-for-13 from three-point range in that victory and averaged 15.6 points in the Red and Blue's three wins this week. Langel has been named Ivy Player of the Week one other time in his career -- in February of 1998, Langel was honored after scoring a career-high 32 points against Harvard. Diana Caramanico, meanwhile, earned her fifth Ivy weekly honor this season for her 38-point explosion against Yale on Friday night at the Palestra. In that game, the junior forward broke Kirsten Brendel's Penn career record for field goals made. Caramanico, the nation's second-leading scorer, put aside any doubt about the award on Saturday, when she scored 20 points to help lead the Quakers to a 17-point victory over Brown. Ugonna Onyekwe, who scored 20 points against St. Joe's, and Mandy West, who scored 20 against Brown, were named to the Ancient Eight's weekly honor roll. -- Jesse Spector
