Renovations begin on Rosengarten Reserve Although the project may "jostle some students who are used to coming in and using the building in certain ways," Executive Assistant to the Director of Libraries Joe Zucca said library officials are taking the necessary measures to minimize inconvenience. The reserve collection, computer lab and wheelchair-accessible facilities will temporarily be moved to Dietrich Reading Room, located on the west wing of the first floor. A new entrance will be temporarily added to replace the wheelchair-accessible one currently leading into Rosengarten and all equipment necessary to bring the facility in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act will be moved into the Dietrich Reading Room. Additional computer work stations will be added to the Moelis Study Lounge facing Walnut Street, Zucca said. Construction this summer will create five sound-proof study carrels, an ADA-accessible room and a lounge with several couches and chairs. New laptop-accessible ports will also be added. Most of the necessary infrastructure work -- including the installation of new heat and air-conditioning systems, a sprinkler system and wiring for new computers -- will also be completed before Rosengarten reopens September 7. -- Sharon Male
