U. delays fresh air food plaza announcement Executive Vice President John Fry said Tuesday that the plans, including the sites of two or three new plazas to replace the two recently canceled locations, would be announced yesterday. But in trying to finalize locations, University officials again encountered opposition to the potential sites, prompting them to decide to take additional time in order to review all possible options further, according to Lisa Prasad of Fry's office. University officials ran into similar problems with two of the sites they originally proposed. Some faculty members opposed a Bennett Hall site because of potential food odors and noise, while staff members opposed a location behind the Van Pelt Library because of potential overcrowding. University officials announced they were abandoning plans for plazas at those sites on February 12. Fry said Tuesday that one of the new locations will likely be behind Meyerson Hall near 34th and Walnut streets. The University will build the plazas while it awaits City Council's approval of an ordinance banning vending on many streets and sidewalks around campus. Plans for the plazas are separate from the ordinance. -- Seth Grossman Drexel freshman leaves HUP after frat house fall After a treacherous three-story fall from a fraternity house window Thursday night, Drexel University freshman Craig Lieberman is going home. Nancy Williams, a nursing administrator at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, said that the 19-year-old marketing student was released from the hospital Tuesday. "He's doing a lot better than anyone expected him to be doing," said Jon Kegerise, Lieberman's roommate. Kegerise added that Lieberman had been expected to remain in the hospital for at least a week. Lieberman stopped by his dormitory room at 3301 Race Street to pick up his computer and some personal items before going home to West Orange, N.J., Kegerise said. The Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledge fell from a window at the fraternity's house at 206 N. 34th Street shortly after 1 a.m. last Thursday. It is not clear if alcohol or hazing were involved as Lieberman fell naked from a bathroom window. The chapter was put on probation while the event is being investigated. A report is expected within a few days. -- Edward Sherwin
