Students could write short essays on why they are the biggest Billy Joel fans at Penn. The authors of the 100 most worthy responses won the front row seats. All of the answers will be bound in a book and presented to Joel, Archer added. Tickets will be sold tomorrow and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Palladium on Locust Walk. Each raffle winner will be allowed to purchase two tickets. The tickets are for reserved seating, Archer said, so it does not matter when students go to pick up their tickets. Archer added that Connaissance will distribute any leftover tickets Wednesday evening. – Amy Lipman Johnson Pavilion evacuated due to fire A small fire caused a scare in the Johnson Pavilion on Friday at 12:45 p.m. The entire building was evacuated when smoke begin to fill the top floors of the building. Sparks from welders' equipment on the third floor fell to the basement and began smoldering with debris. The accident occurred when the welders took a lunch break and waited the standard half-hour for signs of fire. They spotted smoke after they returned from break. Director of Fire and Occupational Safety Jim Miller said that there were no injuries or damages as a result of the fire. – Jaclyn LaPlaca Four injured in car crash at 40th, Walnut As a result of a collision early Saturday morning, a car with four passengers collapsed and flipped over at the corner of 40th and Walnut streets. At approximately 1 a.m., a tow truck and the car -- both traveling at full speed -- collided in the middle of the intersection. The driver of the truck was unharmed, while the four women passengers of the car were seriously injured, according to University Police. All four were conscious when an ambulance crew arrived. University students ran to the scene from Smokey Joe's and Burger King to try to assist the women. Even though one woman's head was lying on the ground, some students arriving from Smokey Joe's attempted to turn over the flipped car. Police could not determine which vehicle was fault in the crash. – Jaclyn LaPlaca
