Committees have been meeting all summer long, and a lot of progress is being made, she said, adding that the project is on track. "As we planned, we will be inside Logan Hall tearing out plaster by the first of the year," Rodin said. She added that she has been actively pursuing donations for the construction of the student center. "I have been talking to classes about their reunion gifts and focusing their donations on the quad," she said. Rodin added that she has set up a fund-raising campaign exclusively for the purpose of raising money for the quad. It will be run by University Trustees Robert Fox and Natalie Koether. "That's important because it is a statement of the very senior commitment to this project," she said. And she is keeping close contact with University trustees and alumni Ronald Perelman and Steven Wynn. In April, Perelman gave a $20 million gift to the University to be used towards the student center, and Wynn donated $7.5 million in June. "I met this week with both Mr. Wynn and Mr. Perelman to talk about our progress and where we are going," she said. "They are excited and eager." -- Amy Lipman
