Meetings will touch on topics such as planned School of Arts and Sciences department closings, the University's image and free speech dilemmas, Secretary Barbara Stevens said yesterday. Another student panel will meet with the members of the External Affairs Committee tomorrow morning to discuss the University's image and the recent negative press surrounding several free speech controversies. In another meeting, the Academic Policy Committee will meet today from 9:45 until 11:45 a.m. Members will hear from Engineering Dean Gregory Farrington on the issue of technological advances in academics. At the University Responsibility Committee meeting this afternoon, SAS Vice Dean and director of community projects Ira Harkavy will make a report on the University's stance on investing in South Africa. Trustees will discuss whether the University should end its economic boycott of the nation. – Cara Tanamachi
