Two males tried to rob a University employee Tuesday morning in the 4000 block of Pine Street, University Police said last night. University Police Sergeant Michael Fink said that two males approached the employee at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday, displayed what appeared to be a semi-automatic weapon and asked for the employee's wallet. He added that the employee refused to give up his wallet and kept walking. The would-be robbers continued walking in the opposite direction along Pine Street. The employee was not injured in the attack, Fink said. He added that when University Police checked the area, no suspects were found. In an unrelated incident, a male was struck by an car in the 3600 block of Spruce Street yesterday afternoon in a hit-and-run accident, Fink said. Fink said that the male, who is not affiliated with the University, sustained a minor injury to his right foot during the hit and run. The car which hit the male is a white Toyota Camry with New York license plates. Police made no stops and have made no arrests, Fink said. In another unrelated incident, University Police responded to a report of gunshots in the 4000 block of Ludlow Street last night, Fink said. Fink said a domestic dispute had occurred where a male fired a gunshot through the window of a house. He added that nobody suffered injuries. When University Police and Philadelphia Police arrived on the scene the male was gone, Fink said. No arrests have been made by the Philadelphia Police, which is handling the case.
