The first words Penn coach Al Bagnoli uttered at Monday morning’s annual Media Day served as a sobering reminder that in Ivy football, the worst way to finish on top is to start there.









Football loses to Cornell 38-48 at Franklin Field. It was back and forth until the last few minutes when Cornell blocked a field goal and then got a pick-six in the second half of the fourth quarter.

Penn football begins the year as the preseason favorites to earn an unprecedented fourth Ivy title in five years. But this year, the Quakers won’t be sneaking up on anyone, as they return much of last year’s squad.
