Penn men’s and women’s fencing have aspirations for an Ivy League Championship, and they have the leadership to back it up, with the team captains at the forefront.

The Pittsford, NY native has previously served on the U.S. Junior National Team, and the Junior World Championship Team (2006). In 2011, she made the US Women’s Foil team. ESPN Magazine listed Nott among their recognized CoSIDA Academic All-American athletes in her junior year at Notre Dame.

On Tuesday, the Ivy League announced the finalists for its Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Senior wide receiver Justin Watson was named a finalist for the offensive award and junior linebacker Nick Miller was nominated for the defensive honor.

After five games in eight days, including an epic four-overtime win over Monmouth on Saturday night, Penn men’s basketball hits the road again. This time the ride will be easier, but the opponent will be anything but. 

Betley's 71 points over four games were more than any other Quaker and enough to earn him DP Sports' Player of the Week. The guard has been a go-to scorer for Penn in tough situations, especially when opponents focus on classmate AJ Brodeur.

Penn men’s basketball limped across the finish line of its third game in as many days at the Gulf Coast Showcase to beat the University of Missouri, Kansas City, 68-65. 

Despite another blistering start, Penn men’s basketball fell to Towson, 79-71, on Tuesday night in the semifinal of the Gulf Coast Showcase, ending its streak of three dominant wins. 

Penn football’s epic late-season surge ultimately couldn’t secure its third straight season of Ivy League title glory, but the Red and Blue had no such shortcomings with individual hardware. The Ivy League released its 2017 All-Ivy selections Tuesday afternoon, and the Quakers were thoroughly represented with 14 total picks.

The competition would be a six-team tournament on the first weekend of the season every year — hosted at the Palestra, in an ideal world — that compacts the entire Big 5 schedule into just three days. 

Watson, for the second year in a row, was just named one of 25 finalists for the prestigious Walter Payton Award, presented each year to the Most Outstanding Player in FCS Football. 

Junior captain Max Rothschild scored 22 points and brought down a dozen rebounds to secure his second double-double of the season within five minutes of the start of the second half. 

On Saturday, the men's team crushed Cornell 237-63, but narrowly lost to Princeton 157-153. The women found similar success, topping the Big Red with ease, 228-79, but falling to the Tigers 182-118.

This past Sunday, Penn wrestling hosted 11 other teams in an electric Palestra filled with fans from all over the East Coast for the annual Keystone Classic.
