After earning Ivy League and Big 5 Player of the Week awards last week, junior Devon Goodman continued his good form and led the Quakers in scoring in all three games the team played this week.

At the Navy Classic, Penn women’s basketball split a pair of games against non-conference opponents, defeating Navy 65-61 in a tight contest on Saturday before falling to Maine 47-46 in the final seconds on Sunday.

Shortly after the conclusion of this year’s Paradise Jam, Penn men’s basketball announced that it will be one of eight teams taking part in the 2019 Wooden Legacy late next November and early December in Anaheim, Calif. Penn is guaranteed to play three games at the event, regardless of the results.

A troubled trip back home from the U.S. Virgin Islands and two straight loses to Power Five conference opponents didn’t deter the Quakers, as they trounced Stockton 112-63 at home on Saturday.

The men had a relatively routine weekend with two lopsided matches, while the women dug deep to grind out three wins in three days. 

Senior linebacker Nick Miller and senior defensive lineman Cooper Gardner headlined Penn football's All-Ivy selection, with both earning first-team honors on defense. 

The Quakers faced tough competition from Ohio State, Northwestern, North Carolina, and Penn State, and left with three wins in total: two from the men's side and one from the women. 

However, both were honored with individual accolades of their in the second week of the season, with Wang winning Ivy League Rookie of the Week and Goodman taking home both Ivy League Player of the Week and Big Five Player of the Week for their play in the 2018 Paradise Jam Tournament.

Behind a slow start to the second half, Penn men’s basketball fell to Oregon State in the third-place game of the Paradise Jam, 74-58. The Quakers (4-2) finished the tournament with a 1-2 record.

In this week's edition of Is Stat So?, men's and women's basketball teams had rebounding totals at opposite ends of the spectrum, football beat the spread, and wrestling's freshmen continue to step up. 

​In what was, on the whole, a mixed bag of a season, the Penn cross country program was able to close its 2018 campaign on an undoubtedly high note.

In front of a packed Palestra crowd, Penn wrestling impressed with nine wrestlers earning top six placements in their respective weight classes, six of them being freshmen. 

Penn men’s basketball fell to No. 12 Kansas State, 64-48, in the semifinals of the Paradise Jam basketball tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the first of three Ivy League tri-meets this season, the Quakers enjoyed a bounty of top-three finishes in Ithaca, N.Y. The men split their matchups, while the women lost to both teams.

The guard put up a combined 51 points from the team’s three games last week, including a career-high 25 against NJIT to cap it off.

In its second home game of the season, Penn women’s basketball got out to an early lead and never looked back, ultimately beating NJIT 85-42.
