The University’s funding from the state of Pennsylvania will increase slightly for fiscal year 2014, which includes the coming school year. The School of Veterinary Medicine and the Center for Infectious Disease will receive the majority of the funds.


The Wharton School announced on June 5 that Georgette Phillips was stepping down from her position as vice dean of Wharton undergraduate programs. Simon and Midge Palley Professor of Management Lori Rosenkopf will take Phillips’ office on July 1.

Katie Bonner, former associate director of student affairs in the Office of Student Affairs, will succeed Hikaru Kozuma as director of the OSA.

Trustee Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Applied Science and Director of the University of Pennsylvania Nano/Bio Interface Center Dawn Bonnell was appointed Vice Provost for Research today.

On Tuesday, the Law School announced the establishment of the Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice, which aims to “catalyze long-term structural improvements to the U.S. criminal justice system” through an “interdisciplinary, data-driven, scientific approach.”
