Whoops, looks like the Friday part of this post has already escaped us. We hope you spent it in the sunshine. As for the rest of your weekend, we know finals are coming up. But if you need a study break, we have one recommendation, and one only:
As the Google Doodle hath warned us, today (was) Earth Day, on which we customarily respect the planet and its non-human inhabitants. In case you haven't yet celebrated, here are some suggestions.
We are deeply saddened to report that 68-year-old Don Ly, owner and operator of the 34th and Walnut fruit cart, was fatally stabbed early this morning while loading up his cart in South Philadelphia. The DP reports that the motive for the stabbing is currently unknown.
It's the weekend, it's TIME TO SHIII-II-IIINE, capture the future, together, etc. Aside from the extravaganzapalooza happening at our very own Penn Park, there's lots of other great stuff in your city this weekend.

It's that awkward limbo time between Fling and finals. Might as well not spend it comatose/destitute/in VP!
Try to think back, before your headache and irritable stomach, before the substances and barbecue that made them thus, before you even donned your Fl1nG T4NK on Friday. On Thursday, UTB gave you some homework. Now we're collecting it.

UTB originally thought this cloud, which floated ominously by campus yesterday afternoon, was colored powder from the Holi event on College Green. But it just looked so SMOKE-y, and was definitely coming from the wrong direction, so while the PPD has confirmed they don't have any records of a fire in the area, we're waiting on other confirmation. Stay tuned as we keep you posted on this cloud's real deal.
Good lord, it is a beautiful day! Spring in Philadelphia means festivals, baseball, water ice and a quick and terrifying change in temperature and humidity. Ahh, humidity. Smell it in the air.
Remember that movie Pleasantville, where Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire got sucked into that television and their lives became black and white? Well that's the opposite of what's happening tomorrow, when Penn will be so loaded with color that you'll have to desaturate your Instagrams. Chi Omega will be holding their annual Color Wars on Rodin Field, a field day extravaganza whose profits go to the Make A Wish Foundation. SIMULTANEOUSLY, Class Boards from all 4 classes will be holding Holi: A Festival of Color on College Green.

Birds chirping, flowers blooming, and all this glorious sunshine infiltrating our confused eyes can only mean one thing: IT'S SPRANG, YOU GUYS!

While other musical aspects of your day may be potentially tumultuous, here's something we can all agree on: It's officially been 25 years to the day (after) Philadelphians Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff released the seminal "He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper," including none other than The Fresh Prince of Bel Air Theme Song. You know, the one that makes all the Brits freak out, and which is so relevant to our daily live in wwwwWWEST Philadelphia?
