The University Board of Trustees approved a slate of new administrative and advisory board appointments at its fall 2025 Stated Meeting last Friday.

The Nov. 7 resolutions — all passed unanimously — elected new trustee members and appointed positions across the graduate schools, Penn Medicine, and University advisory boards. The motions follow previous appointments made during the Board’s September meetings of the 2025-26 academic year.

1990 College graduate and 1994 Wharton MBA graduate Marc McMorris was elected to a two-year term as vice chair of the Board, who will succeed 1979 College graduate Julie Beren Platt in the role. The Trustees also approved two new additions to its membership, including Chair of the Undergraduate Financial Aid Leadership Council Herald Chen and 1993 Wharton and Engineering graduate Ryan Limaye.

Chen serves on the Penn First Plus committee and the Executive Board for the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology. Limaye — who also serves as the managing director at Goldman Sachs — is a member of the Investment Board and Penn Engineering Board of Advisors, and recently gifted the Ryan and Grace Limaye Wellness Room in Amy Gutmann Hall

The Board also announced that James Dinan will succeed Marc Rowan as chair of the Wharton School’s Board of Advisors, concluding Rowan’s nine-year term.

Graduate school appointments included 2002 Dental graduate Daniel Richardson to the Board of Advisors of the School of Dental Medicine; 2012 Nursing graduate and 2017 Nursing Master's graduate Sharon Sutton to the Board of Advisors of the School of Nursing; 1991 College and 1997 Wharton MBA graduate Ali Cudby and Mary Weiler to the Board of Advisors of the School of Social Policy & Practice; and 1977 College graduate Jonathan Skyes to the Board of Advisors of the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Osagie Imasogie — the chair of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School's Board of Advisors — and 1980 College graduate Harlan Stone were both appointed to the Penn Medicine Executive Committee, which oversees the academic and clinical affairs of the medical school and the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Former Board of Trustees chair James Riepe was named an Emeritus Member of the Penn Medicine Board in honor of his “strong commitment” through “service and philanthropy,” according to the meeting agenda.

The agenda also included several reappointments, namely the two-year extension of Antonia Villarruel’s tenure as dean of Penn’s School of Nursing. Erik Gershwin, chair of the Board of Advisors of the University Libraries, was also reappointed for an additional three-year term.

The Board's Facilities and Campus Planning Committee also discussed a redesign of 1920 Commons and an addition to the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts during their Nov. 6 meeting.
