In his final season at Penn, men’s basketball senior guard Clark Slajchert took home the highest honor of his Quaker career.
On Wednesday, Slajchert was named to the second team All-Ivy as a part of the Ivy League’s postseason awards. It was the first such honor for Slajchert, who led the Quakers in scoring this season with 18 points per game and a 48.7% clip from the field.
Slajchert also received Academic All-Ivy recognition. Other notable award winners included Princeton forward Caden Pierce taking home Ivy League Player of the Year, Yale guard Bez Mbeng winning Defensive Player of the Year, and Harvard guard Malik Mack earning Rookie of the Year.
Slajchert's Ivy success came despite missing the first six games of the conference campaign with an ankle injury. After his return, he contributed several memorable performances, including a 32-point performance against Brown and a 22-point outing in a win over Columbia. Against the Lions, Slajchert also became the 43rd player in Penn history to score 1,000 points.
Slajchert recently entered the transfer portal for his final year of collegiate eligibility, which he cannot use at Penn due to the Ivy League’s policy prohibiting graduate students from participating in athletics. Slajchert has received interest from a number of Power 5 schools, including UCLA, Indiana, Clemson, and Penn State.
