Police Station 40th and Chestnut

DUI:

Aug. 28: At 2:03 p.m., an unaffiliated 53-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence at the 3900 block of Woodland Avenue after he was involved in a minor car accident. Upon being stopped, the suspect was found to have pin-point pupils and unsteady balance.

Sept. 3: At 1:55 a.m., an unaffiliated 43-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence at the 3900 block of Walnut Street after she was observed driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Upon being stopped, the suspect was found to have bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, with a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Other Assault:

Aug. 28: At 9:23 a.m., a suspect was reported to Penn Police for making threats of harm against a hospital employee at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 3400 Spruce Street.

Vandalism:

Aug. 28: At 11 p.m., an affiliated 38-year-old man reported the rear passenger window of his vehicle had been shattered at 39th and Baltimore Avenue.

Drunkenness:

Aug. 28: At 1:33 a.m., an unaffiliated 19-year-old man was cited at the 4000 block of Walnut Street after he was observed being visibly intoxicated and smelling strongly of alcohol. The suspect was found to be under the legal drinking age and received a citation.

Aug. 29: At 11:51 p.m., an unaffiliated 27-year-old man and an unaffiliated 24-year-old man were both cited after being found attempting to enter a construction site and climb a ladder while under the influence at the 3000 block of Walnut Street.

Burglary:

Aug. 29: At 1:30 a.m., an affiliated 23-year-old man reported that he found the front door ajar upon returning to his apartment at 40th and Pine streets. Both he and a second complaint, also an affiliated 23-year-old man, reported personal items were missing from the residence.

Other Offense:

Aug. 29: At 4:38 a.m., an unaffiliated 47-year-old woman received a citation for a parking code violation at the 300 block of S. 38th Street.

Fraud: 

Sept. 3: At 9 a.m., an affiliated 19-year-old woman reported that while attempting to sublet her apartment, a suspect sent her a check for more than the required amount and requested that the balance be sent to a third party. The suspect’s check was found to be fraudulent.
