Throughout the last school year, there has been plenty said about Paul Nungresser, Emma Sulkowicz and her performance art of carrying a mattress throughout Columbia's campus.

And all of that came to a head at Columbia's graduation.

Sulkowicz did as she said she would last September, bringing the mattress across the stage at graduation. She did so despite Columbia's rule possibly denying her the ability.

“Graduates should not bring into the ceremonial area large objects which could interfere with the proceedings or create discomfort to others in close, crowded spaces shared by thousands of people,” read an email sent to graduating seniors, according to the Columbia Spectator.

Here is video of her carrying the mattress across the stage.

Nungresser is suing the University for allowing Sulkowicz to do this publicly and break confidentiality. His parents released the following statement after graduation.

“This has been a deeply humiliating experience. We are very proud of our son for graduating from college, but our memory of it will always be tainted by Columbia's wrongdoing," the statement read.
