This weekend has been a busy one for Penn's maintenance staff.
A radiator broke in the Fisher Fine Arts Library lobby, releasing a substantial amount of steam into the building's entry. Water also flooded into the basement of the building, though housekeeping was able to stop the deluge of water and clean the radiator's mess.
Penn housekeeper Dorothy Williams said the library did not close and nobody was hurt as a result of the leak.
The cause of the radiator leak is currently unknown.
The leak is Penn's second flood-related event of the weekend, after Huntsman Hall faced flood damage yesterday, which closed off a second of the building. Earlier today, buildings along 40th and Walnut streets were stripped of power, and Penn maintenance staff helped places like the Radian and CVS get their facilities up and running again. The cause of the power outage is also still unknown.
