Crime Log: Aug. 1 – Aug. 7

Robbery:

Aug. 1, 2014: An unaffiliated male reported at 1:00 p.m. on the 4000 block of Walnut Street that a woman punched him after he asked her if she was alright. He reported that two additional people also approached and hit him and took money and other things from his pocket.

Public Urination:

Aug. 1, 2014: A 20-year-old unaffiliated male was cited for public urination on the 100 block of S. 39th Street around 2:15 a.m.

Narcotic:

Aug. 6, 2014: A 27-year-old unaffiliated male was arrested when found to have to packets of marijuana while being investigated for a theft at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The man was also arrested for the theft, which was reported on Aug. 4, 2014.

Vandalism:

Aug. 7, 2014: A 19-year-old affiliated female reported hearing a noise on her roof on the 4000 block of Spruce Street around 1:30 a.m. She found that the word “imagine” was spray-painted on her roof by an unknown person.

Aggravated Assault:

Aug. 7, 2014: A 22-year-old unaffiliated male and a 23-year-old unaffiliated male reported around 1:00 a.m. that two people they knew approached them with pointed handguns while they were in a cab at the intersection of 36th and Ludlow streets. The two people told them to get out of the cab, but they did not exit the cab and instead drove to Penn Police headquarters.

Theft from vehicle: 2

Theft from building: 7

Theft all other: 1

Arrests from theft:

Aug. 6, 2014: A 38-year-old unaffiliated male was arrested in connection with a theft from 4242 Spruce St. that was reported around 12:00 p.m.
