The sixth-annual Ivy Sports Symposium will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, in Jon M. Huntsman Hall.
DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the NFL Players Association, will headline the established group of sports industry guest speakers coming to Penn’s campus. Smith represented the players in the renegotiation of the NFL’s latest collective bargaining agreement and will be able to draw upon his most recent experience at the symposium
Other notable speakers, among a group of over 80 such guests, include Mark Waller, NFL’s chief marketing officer, Derrick Hall, president and chief executive officer of MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks, and Peter Carlisle, managing director of Olympic and Action Sports, at Octagon.
The early bird registration deadline for admission to the event is Sept. 30, while tickets last. Prices vary, but students attending any Ivy League school can receive a $25 discount off the original student price of $40 by entering the discount code “IVYSTUDENT” and providing a school email address upon registering at SportsSymposium.org.
According to a press release, the Ivy Sports Symposium aims “to advance the sports business by facilitating interaction among students and professionals, providing an ideal forum for communication and debate and enabling some of the most successful executives in the industry to share invaluable knowledge with their peers and successors.”
