Friday morning, seven high school students were hospitalized after a brawl between students from Boys Latin Charter and West Catholic High School in West Philadelphia. According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the fight erupted at the SEPTA station at 46th and Market streets — just outside the Division of Public Safety’s patrol zone, which extends from 30th to 43rd streets.

The incident took place near Penn Nursing’s Life Center building, at 4508 Chestnut St. Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush confirmed that no one affiliated with Penn was injured.

Those who spoke to the Inquirer confirmed that none of the wounds sustained by the students are life-threatening, and that this is just one in a string of recent fights. One student, brought to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, suffered severe knife wounds, according to the Inquirer.

A Philadelphia Police investigation as to the trigger of the conflict is pending.
