Crime Log: Sept. 18-24

Assault

Sept. 19 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 81, reported at about 2:15 a.m. that an unknown suspect approached him and pushed him to the ground on the 300 block of S. 39th St.

Robbery

Sept. 22 — Naim White, 18, unaffiliated with the University and of the 3900 block of Market Street, was arrested at about 6:30 a.m. for allegedly forcibly removing the purse of a female employee, 61, at the Presbyterian Hospital and fleeing in the vicinity of the 3900 block of Market Street.

Burglary

Sept. 24 — A known suspect was reported at about 6:45 a.m. to have entered the unsecured property of Cream and Sugar, located at 4004 Spruce St., and removed cash from the register.

Narcotic

Sept. 22 — Derek Smith, 22, unaffiliated with the University and of the 2100 block of N. Van Pelt Street, was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. on the 3900 block of Walnut Street for allegedly possessing illegal narcotics.

Vandalism

Sept. 19 — A female student, 18, reported at about 1:30 a.m. that an unknown suspect broke the window to her residence at Hill College House, located at 3333 Walnut St.

Theft

Sept. 24 — A female University employee, 54, reported at about 7 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed personal property from a secured locker at Presbyterian Hospital.

Sept. 24 — A male student, 22, reported at about 5:45 p.m. that someone removed his bicycle, secured with a cable lock, from outside the Vagelos Research Laboratories, located on the 3300 block of Smith Walk.

Sept. 20 — A male unaffiliated with the University reported at about 7 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed his GPS device, left in plain view, from his secured vehicle on the 400 block of S. 41st Street.

Sept. 20 — A male student, 19, reported at about 2 a.m. that an unknown suspect removed his bicycle, secured to a wooden railing, from the 200 block of S. 41st Street.

Sept. 19 — A male student, 20, reported at about 3:15 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed his unsecured laptop during a party on the 3900 block of Delancey Street.

Sept. 18 — An unknown suspect was reported at about 4:30 p.m. to have removed a laptop from a secured room in the Penn Humanities building.

Sept. 18 — A male student, 19, reported at about 12:15 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed his bicycle, secured with a cable lock, from the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house, located on the 4040 Walnut St.

Sept. 18 — A male employee, 35, reported at about 8:30 a.m. that an unknown suspect removed his bicycle, secured with a U-Lock, from the 300 block of S. 40th Street.
