Assault
Sept. 17 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 46, reported at about 7:30 p.m. that several unknown suspects approached him and one suspect struck him in the face in a parking garage located at 40th and Walnut streets.
Sept. 15 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 23, reported at about 8:45 p.m. that several unknown suspects approached him and struck him in the back as he was attempting to enter the Walnut Hills Apartments, located at 4111 Walnut St. The suspects then fled from the area.
Robbery
Sept. 14 — Michael Tomkins, 28, unaffiliated with the University and of the 3800 block of Melon Street, was arrested at about 2:15 p.m. for allegedly approaching and attempting to steal the purse of a female University employee, 30, on the 3800 block of Chestnut Street.
Sept. 12 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 18, reported at about 2 a.m. that several unknown suspects approached him on the 4300 block of Market Street. One suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money, and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Burglary
Sept. 14 — A male student, 20, reported at about 5:45 p.m. that an unknown suspect entered his residence on the 4000 block of Pine Street and removed a TV.
Auto Theft
Sept. 11 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 37, reported at 12:45 a.m. that an unknown suspect took his secured vehicle from the 4200 block of Spruce Street
Theft
Sept. 17 — An unknown suspect was reported at about 3:15 p.m. to have removed classroom items from a secured room at the Moore Building.
Sept. 17 — A male student, 29, reported at about 3:45 p.m. that someone removed his personal items from an unsecured locker at Pottruck Gym.
Sept. 16 — A male student, 29, reported at about 9:30 p.m. that his secured bicycle was removed by an unknown suspect from the Johnson Pavilion.
Sept. 15 — A female University employee, 41, reported at about 1:15 a.m. that her unattended purse was taken from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania by an unknown suspect.
Sept. 15 — A man unaffiliated with the University reported at about 1:30 p.m. that someone removed his unattended wallet from the counter at Wawa, located at 3744 Spruce St.
Sept. 14 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 24, reported at about 10:30 a.m. that someone entered his secured vehicle at a parking garage located at 34th and Chestnut streets and removed his GPS device, left in plain view.
Sept. 14 — A man unaffiliated with the University reported at about 12:45 p.m. that an unknown suspect entered his secured vehicle on the 3800 block of Market Street and removed his GPS device, left in plain view.
Sept. 14 — A woman unaffiliated with the University reported at 2:45 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed her wallet while at Fresh Grocer, located at 4001 Walnut St.
Sept. 13 — A male student, 22, reported at about 2:45 a.m. that an unknown suspect removed his unsecured bicycle from the porch of his residence on the 4100 block of Pine Street.
Sept. 13 — Jocelyn Ghazzawi, 48, unaffiliated with the University and of the 100 block of Sherbrook Boulevard in Upper Darby, Pa., was arrested at about 10:15 a.m. for allegedly removing merchandise from CVS, located at 3925 Walnut St., without paying.
Sept. 13 — A boy unaffiliated with the University, 17, was arrested at about 1:45 p.m. for removing merchandise from Urban Outfitters, located at 110 S. 36th St., without paying.
Sept. 13 — A male student, 23, reported at about 7:15 p.m. that an unknown suspect removed his unattended laptop from Hillel.
Sept. 13 — A male student, 25, reported at about 7:45 p.m. that three unknown suspects removed his unsecured bicycle from the 4000 block of Walnut Street.
Sept. 12 — A female student, 21, reported at about 4:45 p.m. that an unknown suspect took her iPod on the 3700 block of Walnut Street.
Sept. 11 — A man unaffiliated with the University, 74, reported at about 6:30 p.m. that an unknown suspect entered his secured vehicle on the 300 block of S. 34th Street and removed his GPS device, left in plain view.
