At least seven shots were fired into a residence on the 3900 block of Ludlow Street Monday night, according to the Philadelphia Police.
Police say no one was injured and that the investigation is ongoing.
At 7:36 p.m., police received reports of gunshots at 3913 Ludlow St. When they arrived at the scene, they found that the rear window of the residence was shattered.
Officer Gerard McPhillips of the Philadelphia Police said police were able to speak with three earwitnesses who heard, but did not see, the shots. One was a man inside the residence. Two others, the resident of the house and a friend, were in a parking lot nearby.
Seven bullet casings were found in the street and in the residence. One was on the kitchen floor and another was lodged in the refrigerator, McPhillips said.
Shortly after the shooting, Penn Police stopped a Cadillac Escalade at the 3900 block of Chestnut Street. Philadelphia Police believes the driver is connected with the shooting, McPhillips said.
A man and a woman have been taken into Philadelphia Police custody for further questioning according to DPS spokeswoman Stef Cella said.
Wharton sophomore Chris Baird, who lives nearby, said he and his roommates heard the shots.
"We only heard five shots," he said. "Our window overlooks that area.
He added that after the shots were fired, he saw "a black Escalade with black-tinted windows rolling out."
Police arrived at the scene within five minutes, according to Baird.
