Former Economics professor Rafael Robb will serve five to 10 years in prison and 10 years probation for killing his wife, Ellen, in December 2006.
Rafael Robb, 58, was sentenced in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas this afternoon. He will receive credit for the time he has served in prison since his January 2007 arrest.
Robb pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter last November. At the time of his plea, he admitted to bludgeoning Ellen Robb to death with a chin-up bar in the couple's Upper Merion home during a fight about their daughter's upcoming vacation plans. Robb "just lost it," he said at the time.
Robb resigned from the University shortly after his guilty plea.
