Dartmouth alum makes Olympics
Jarrod Shoemaker might have counted his 2002 Heptagonal championship in cross country as one of his greatest achievements.
He's got something a little more notable now.
Shoemaker ran the ITU BG Beijing World Cup triathlon in 1:49:44, good for 11th overall. As the top American finisher, that qualified him for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The Sudbury, Mass., native was the first American ever to medal at the Under-23 World Cup Triathlon.
At Dartmouth, he led the Big Green to three cross-country championships in his four years there.
