More awards for women's lacrosse
A week after the IWLCA honored goalie Sarah Waxman and defender Hilary Renna with All-America awards, womenslacrosse.com heaped more recognition on the Quakers.
Karin Brower was named National Coach of the Year after leading the team to a 16-2 record and its first ever Final Four berth. It was also the team's first postseason appearance since 1984.
Renna earned first-team All-America honors from the site while Waxman garnered second-team recognition. Freshman midfielder Ali DeLuca was named to the All-Rookie squad.
Senior tri-captain Karen Jann earned the title of "Unsung Hero of the Year" after quietly leading Penn's defense and molding it into one of the best units in the game.
