Saturday, the Quakers travel to Lewisburg, Pa.
Where, you ask? A quaint town lost somewhere in the mountains between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg.
Along the banks of the mighty Susquehanna lies the home of the not-so-mighty Bucknell Bison.
(Much unlike the Buffalo, native only to Asia and Africa).
It turns out Bucknell is named after a Philadelphian. Lets see how two seemingly intertwined towns stack up.
So we have Stephen Starr, they have. The Frosty Cow. We have Lincoln Financial Field, they have. Lewisburg State Penitentiary.
Well. okay. Maybe that's not such a big difference. But anyway you get the point.
There are some similarities however.
While we may have our oversized sunglasses, interestingly, it seems that our friends in pastoral Lewisburg have a disturbingly soft spot for J. Crew (yes, the clothing company), according to a reliable source (who happens to be one of this paper's esteemed editors' brother).
We hear it's actually pretty creepy. Supposedly, you can't walk a minute without seeing a stack of catalogs. And they spend an unhealthy amount of time staring at them. Just. staring.
But, hey, why not? A fine clothing manufacturer, J. Crew has been selling quality garments for almost twenty years now.
They must know something we don't.
So, we decided to call Jay Crew from Ocotillo, Calif., for some insight on tomorrow's game. He hung up on us after about two seconds.
Ever persistent, we called back. He informed us we had just woken him up, even though it was about 7 p.m. out there at the time.
We couldn't get a score out of him, but what he was trying to say is that it will be a quick lights out for Bucknell.
