Attempted Theft
May 30 -- A man affiliated with the University returned to his office on the 3200 block of Walnut Street and observed an unknown male holding his laptop. He asked for it back and the male left without incident.
Burglary
May 24 -- Students reported a laptop computer and stereo, valued at $1800, missing from their apartment on the 3900 block of Baltimore Avenue. Police arrested Joseph Cureton, 37, of the 5400 block of Chester Ave., for burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and theft in connection with the crime.
DUI
May 27 -- A person not affiliated with the University was arrested for DUI on the 4000 block of Chestnut Street.
Robbery
May 24 -- A person affiliated with the University was approached while walking east on the 4200 block of Locust Street by male who said stop right there and give me money. The perpetrator, who is about 6'3", with dreadlocks, and was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans took $160 before getting into a white pick up truck and fleeing west towards 43rd street.
Theft
May 30 -- A salesperson observed male enter Douglas Perfumery on the 3600 block of Walnut Street and take a bottle of Estee Lauder perfume. Male fled the store west bound on Walnut Street.
May 30 -- A man not affiliated with the University reported his his IBM thinkpad, valued at $2000, missing. He exited his unlocked office to use the restroom, observed two unknown males in the hall, and found his laptop missing when he returned.
May 30 -- A woman not affiliated with the University reported her purse, valued at $600, taken. She left her purse on the floor at the Presbytarian Hospital at 51 N. 39th St. and went to register for a medical procedure and when she returned the purse was gone.
May 28 -- Grocery items, valuing $27 were stolen from The Fresh Grocer on the 4000 Block of Walnut Street.
May 28 -- A man affiliated with the University reported theft of bike after he left his bike unattended but secured with a lock at bike rack and it was gone when he returned. The bike was a KHS mountain bike red /black in color, valued at $800.
May 17 -- A person affiliated with the University reported two IBM computers and 2 IBM flat panel monitors in original boxes, valued at $1704, taken from location at 39th Street.
