The Penn women's tennis team was selected on Wednesday to receive a bid to the NCAA tournament, and will kick off the postseason in Atlanta on May 12 or 13 against Tennessee.
Harvard made the 64-team field as well, winning the Ivy League's automatic bid with a perfect 7-0 conference record. Penn was right behind, with a 6-1 Ivy record and a 12-5 overall record.
There is potential for a postseason rematch between the conference rivals -- if both teams make the Round of 16, they will face off against each other.
This is the Quakers' fourth trip to the tournament under head coach Michael Dowd, previously going in 2001, 2002 and 2003. In 2002, Penn defeated Richmond before falling to Duke in the second round.
The men's team, meanwhile, did not receive an at-large bid despite tying with Brown for their first Ivy League title since 1971. They finished 6-1 in the Ivy League but fell to the Bears in a playoff game on April 30.
