Men's lacrosse: (4)Johns Hopkins 13; Penn 3
Penn stayed close through the second quarter against perennial lacrosse powerhouse Johns Hopkins, but the Jays got things going in the second half, heading to a 13-3 win. A goal early in the second quarter by Penn's captain D.J. Andrzejewski cut the lead to 3-2. But after getting shut out for most of the quarter, with nine seconds left in the half the Blue Jays put in a fourth goal, carrying some momentum into the locker room. They then came out blazing, outscoring Penn 9-1 to finish the game. The Quakers were led by Andrzejewski's two goals, both assisted by his younger brother Craig. Hopkins was led by a balanced attack, but saw two goals and two assists from midfielder Paul Rabil.
Women's tennis: (6)Georgia Tech 4; (45)Penn 0
After a first round upset over Tennessee there would be no Cinderella run for the Quakers, as they got shut out by the heavily favored Yellow Jackets, 4-0. Penn dominated doubles in a sweep of the Lady Vols a day earlier, but was on the other end of a beating at the hands of Georgia Tech, losing 8-1, 8-1 and 6-3 (DNF) for the doubles point on Saturday. Before Georgia Tech clinched, they took each singles match in straight sets, taking down Yulia Rivelis, Julia Koulbitskaya and Michelle Mitchell.
