Penn football coach departs for Lehigh

Offensive coordinator Andy Coen to head up Mountain Hawks

Penn offensive coordinator Andy Coen has been named the head football coach for Lehigh, replacing Pete Lembo at the helm of the Mountain Hawks.

Coen had spent the past six seasons with the Red and Blue, helping the Quakers amass three Ivy League titles, as well as a top-10 final ranking after Penn's undefeated 2003 season. Under Coen's watch, the Quakers set new school and Ivy League records for points scored in a season in 2000, and again in 2002.

Coen is returning to the team where he spent six years prior to joining Penn. He was the offensive line coach in 1994 and 1995, and the offensive coordinator from 1996-99. During this time, the Mountain Hawks won two Patriot League titles, and in 1998, reached the Division I-AA quarterfinals.

In 2005, Lembo, in his fifth season as head coach, lead Lehigh to an 8-3 record before announcing his departure to take the head coaching position at Elon.
