Ivy Basketball Rankings

Quakers run away with men's rankings

In what should come as a surprise to nobody, the Penn men took the top spot in the first DP Ivy Rankings of the season.

After a dominant weekend featuring three blowout wins, the Quakers kept six of the remaining seven teams from even breaking the 90s.

Columbia did unexpectedly well in the computer rankings, due to the Lions' easy non-league schedule. But the inflated record didn't fool the DP's writers, who brought Columbia's rating back down with the lowest poll score.

On the women's side, Dartmouth and Princeton rated well above the rest of the league, pushing several teams below 50.

The computers kept the spread respectable, but the writers were not as generous, trashing Columbia and Yale and saddling the Elis with a dismal poll score in the 20s.

The Quakers landed near the middle of the rankings, undoubtedly given a boost by the weekend's win over the Lions.
