Saturday-morning early risers have the chance to become a little bit wiser.
Renowned Ben Franklin impersonator Ralph Archbold will dine and chat with guests at the Independence Visitor Center tomorrow morning as part of a series called Breakfast with Ben.
Kathleen Ries, director of marketing at the center, said the breakfasts -- which will run through mid-December -- are opportunities for Philadelphians to get to know the city's most famous historical figure.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to ask about a specific aspect of Franklin's life," she said.
Following breakfast, Franklin will talk to the group about his achievements and discusses several of his inventions.
Ries said Franklin also will teach attendees a song that he learned during his voyage from Boston to Philadelphia.
Although Mrs. Franklin joined her husband at last week's breakfast, he will fly solo tomorrow morning.
Participants can also pose for pictures with Franklin and ask him questions.
Ries said Archbold is a "true professional" who is well-versed with Franklin's life.
Though the event attracts children, "more and more adults have been reserving seats with no kids in tow," Ries said.
She added that the event could be particularly interesting to college students who "might be interested in engineering or science or politics."
Ries added that groups can contact the Independence Visitor Center to arrange private events.
Tomorrow's breakfast runs from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $19 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under.
The event is limited to 50 participants, and last week it sold out by Friday.
Breakfasts will continue every Saturday through Dec. 17.
The Independence Visitor Center is located at Sixth and Market streets and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Admission is free.
