M. Tennis advances to finals of ECACs in N.Y.
The Penn men's tennis team advanced to the championship round of the ECAC Invitational held at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
The fourth-seeded Quakers upset No. 1-seed Penn State yesterday in the semifinals, 5-2. Freshmen Jason Pinsky and Jonathan Boym, as well as sophomores Mikhail Bekker and Brandon O'Gara all recorded singles victories in the win.
The Quakers also won two out of three doubles contests against the Nittany Lions.
On Saturday, the Quakers knocked off Columbia in an even tighter battle, 4-3. Bekker and sophomore Joseph Lok won tight three-set contests to seal the victory.
The Quakers handled Binghamton easily in the first round, 6-1. Penn will face either No.3 seed Harvard or No.2 seed Brown in the final today.

Cross Country teams finish 8th at Paul Short
The men's and women's cross country teams both finished in eighth place on Saturday in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa.
The men's team was led by senior Courtney Jaworski, who finished 25th overall with a time of 24:30. The Quakers tallied 288 points in the 44-team men's event, only five points behind seventh-place Duquesne.
Senior Breton Bonnette and sophomore Brian Goldberg had strong individual performances, placing 37th and 69th overall, respectively.
For the women's team, it was sophomores Claire and Stacy Kim taking fifth and sixth place, respectively, less than two seconds apart.
Freshman Leah Brogan also led Penn with her 22nd-place finish. The Quakers tallied 228 points in the woman's event.
