The Penn women's basketball team did what it needed to do to stay in the Ivy League race this weekend, winning both games in New York to stay two games behind first place Dartmouth. On Friday night, the Quakers used a 17-5 run to tie the game in the first half and a 10-0 run in the second to put the game away as they beat Columbia 63-51 at Levien Gymnasium in New York. Center Jennifer Fleischer had a career-high 25 points in the win. On Satuday night Fleischer set a career high with 21 rebounds, as the Quakers held on for their lives against Cornell to win 51-50. Despite leading 42-26 with 14:29 to go, Penn (12-8, 5-2 Ivy) let the hapless Big Red (2-19, 0-8) back into the game. But the Quakers held on, and will play their next five Ivy games at home before travelling to Dartmouth and Harvard to end the season.
