Senior wide receiver Dan Castles made one last big catch as the Penn football team gave out its postseason awards at its annual banquet held last Friday.
Castles took home the George A. Munger Award as the team's most valuable offensive player, while linebacker Luke Hadden won the Munger award for defensive players.
Last season, Castles set Penn's all-time record for receiving touchdowns, finishing his distinguished career with 27. He also stands in second place all-time in receiving yards and third in catches.
Hadden was first in tackles with 66 for the Quakers, who finished the season 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the Ivy League, good for second place.
Senior defensive end Bobby Fallon captured the Edgar Church Memorial Award for contributions to the team, while Sam Mathews, Duvol Thompson and Josh Appell won Penn Football Club Awards for the intangibles that make for successful football programs.
Senior defensive back and tri-captain Kevin Stefanski won the evening's last honor, the George Weiss Award.
The George Weiss Award honors the player who fits the attributes of "Pennsylvania kind of football."
Stefanski recorded 49 tackles good for third on the team in his final season of a career in which he battled through two serious knee injuries.
