After its miraculous win over Princeton last night, the Penn men's basketball team solidified its hold on the top spot in the latest DP Ivy Rankings.
It is likely that barring a sweep by Columbia and Cornell this weekend, Penn will finally overtake Princeton in the RPI and have a perfect computer rating.
The Tigers, who have now lost three games in a row and four of their first five Ivy contests, dropped for the second straight week, this time from second to fourth.
Brown leapfrogged over the Tigers into the second hole.
The biggest climber of the week is Cornell, which moved up from seventh to third with its weekend sweep of Yale and Brown.
The Big Red's ascent pushed every other team down a spot, except for Dartmouth, whichremained in last place in the rankings.
On the women's side, Penn's sweep at the hands of Harvard and Dartmouth cost the Quakers their top spot.
The Big Green picked up 14 of the 20 first-place votes in the DP writers' poll and jumped into first overall.
Penn dropped to third place, slipping behind Harvard as well.
The Quakers maintained their lead in the computers but suffered in the writers' poll.
Brown swept Cornell and Columbia last weekend but moved down from third to fourth. Harvard's sweep of previously top-ranked Penn and sixth-ranked Princeton was enough to get the Crimson the necessary votes and computer ratings to pass the Bears.
The Big Green will put its undefeated Ivy record on the line this weekend at Brown and Yale.
The Quakers will also be on the road, visiting the Empire State starting at Columbia Friday night and finishing up at Cornell Saturday night.
