Several gunshots were fired around midnight Friday at the Bridge: Cinema de Lux, resulting in several broken windows but ultimately no injuries.
Four men -- all unaffiliated with the University -- were implicated in the shooting.
One of the men turned himself in, and police arrested two others.
Police officials could not release any names because charges have not yet been processed. Investigations are ongoing.
The shooting resulted from a confrontation between a group of three of the males and the other individual, Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush said.
Originally, the four were inside the Bridge, but they moved the disturbance outside of the theater before any shots were fired.
Rush said police do not yet know how many shots were fired, but they believe that only two of the individuals possessed guns.
"Shots were exchanged between one of the three and the other individual," Rush said.
A security officer inside the Bridge notified Penn Police when the shots were fired.
Police arrived at the scene in time to arrest the 20-year-old individual within the group of three who they said fired the shots. From him, police recovered a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic gun.
Philadelphia Police found and arrested a second man from the group of three soon after.
The other man turned himself in to Southwest Detectives around 3 a.m. Saturday along with his four-millimeter Beretta semi-automatic gun. Police did not say why he decided to turn himself in.
Rush said investigators have already processed evidence from the scene, including several cartridges and casings. Investigators also noticed three holes in a glass window outside the theater bar but have not definitely linked them to the shooting.
Engineering sophomore Jason Ursaner said he was closing the parking gate of the Sigma Phi Epsilon house -- located at 4028 Walnut St. -- when he heard around eight gunshots in succession.
"I just heard gunshots, and I saw a bunch of people run out of the theater," he said. "Then we saw a guy run down [Walnut Street], and he was being chased by the cops."
Ursaner said he could not tell whether the individual was carrying a weapon.
Wharton freshman Derek Zoch was standing outside the Greek Lady on 40th Street during the incident and said he heard around five shots.
"We just heard a couple shots go off," Zoch said. "And then [a] kid came up and said he saw someone running with a gun. ... There was a lot of panic coming from down the street where it happened."
Officials from the Bridge refused to comment.
