Ivy Player of the Week honors for Penn's Zoller

Sophomore forward Mark Zoller took home Ivy League Player of the Week honors in men's basketball after Penn had an easier than expected time dispatching neighborhood rival Drexel on Nov. 23, 81-50.

Zoller came off the bench to total 22 points and 12 rebounds. Most importantly, he added energy early in the contest to a Quakers team that came out flat for the third consecutive game.

Particularly impressive was Zoller's ability to shoot from the outside. He hit his second and third career three-pointers, the second of which came in the midst of a 13-5 run that gave Penn an eight-point lead at the half.

Big 5 Hall of Fame class to be inducted this weekend

The Big 5 will induct two new members into its Hall of Fame Friday at a reception marking the kick-off of the Big 5's 50th Anniversary.

La Salle's Roland "Fatty" Taylor and Maureen Costello of Saint Joseph's comprise the Class of 2004.

Taylor was considered the Big 5's premier guard during his career with the Explorers in the late 1960s. In his best season, 1968-69, La Salle was ranked second in the nation and finished 23-1. Taylor, along with his backcourt mate Bernie Williams, placed third in fan voting for the All-Time Best Big 5 Guard Combos.

Taylor played seven seasons with Washington, Virginia and Denver of the ABA, and also played in the NBA with Denver for one season.

Costello was the Big 5 Player of the Year her senior season at St. Joe's, leading the Hawks to two undefeated city series titles as well as two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Costello currently lives in Philadelphia and works for Blue Star Basketball, organizing AAU camps and tournaments.

Black earns prestigious Field Hockey designation

The Penn field hockey team continues to take home postseason honors following an Ivy League championship season. This time it was one of its freshmen.

Melissa Black was named to the Womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie squad after an impressive freshman season.

The Lansdale, Pa., native played an integral role in the Quakers' success this season, when the team caught fire, winning 12 of its last 13 games and claiming a share of the Ivy League title.

Black, one of the standouts on the Penn defense, helped the Quakers to eight shutouts, including a school record six-in-a-row. She was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week twice and was also named second-team All-Ivy at the end of the year.

Sixteen freshmen make the Womensfieldhockey.com All-Rookie team, and the honor marks the first time a Penn player has won Rookie of the Year honors since Nicky Hitchens back in 1985.

Judge orders La Salle to turn over unedited tapes

A judge has ordered La Salle University to turn over unedited security camera footage from the night when a woman said two basketball players raped her.

Gary Neal, 20, and Michael Cleaves, 22, who are no longer enrolled at La Salle, are accused of raping the woman in June.

The university's lawyer, Scott A. Coffina, said there were gaps in the video because motion detectors automatically started and stopped the tapes from recording.

The prosecutor and Neal's lawyer disputed Coffina's assertion, noting that the videos repeatedly showed minutes with no visible movement.

A clock on the cameras showed 19 continuous minutes of video missing from each of the two cameras, coinciding with the time the woman maintains she was raped.

On Wednesday, Judge Pamela Pryor Dembe ordered the university to turn over the complete security videos for a 10-hour period beginning at 11 p.m. on June 23.
