Onyekwe picks Miller as agent, preps for draft

Senior basketball standout Ugonna Onyekwe has chosen Andy Miller as his agent. Miller is also the agent for NBA stars Kevin Garnett and Antonio McDyess.

Recently, Onyekwe trained in Florida at the IMG Academy with various NBA prospects, including European players.

The Penn star is waiting on an invitation to the Chicago pre-draft camp, which he believes will arrive within the week. Joining him could be Saint Joseph's junior Jameer Nelson, who declared his eligibility for the draft Tuesday morning.

Onyekwe graduates with a degree from the Wharton School this Monday. Following his anticipated trip to Chicago from June 3-6, he plans to work out with different NBA squads and return to Philadelphia to continue training.

An Eastern Conference scout told The Daily Pennsylvanian last month that Onyekwe is likely to be a second-round pick in the June 26 draft.

Should Onyekwe appear on the NBA Draft board, he would be the first Penn player drafted since the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Jerome Allen with the 49th pick in the 1995 draft.
