For the fourth year in a row, Penn will have the top-seeded all-around gymnast in the NCAA Northeast Regionals. Freshman Anna Wilson is the Quakers' No. 1 this season. She will compete at Regionals on April 7 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Wilson currently owns all but one of Penn's school records. She has posted scores of 39.225 in the all-around, 9.975 in the floor exercise, 9.900 on the uneven bars and 9.850 on the vault. The only event in Penn's record book that does not have Wilson's name attached to it is the balance beam. Wilson's personal record on the beam is 9.825. The Penn record is 9.950, set last year by Becky Nadler. Wilson placed first in the all-around, as well as the bars and floor, at the ECAC Championships last weekend. Last month, the Newland, N.C., native took first place in the vault at the Ivy Championships. Previous Penn top seeds in the NCAA Northeast Regionals were Kathleen Gunn (1998), Molly Sullivan (1999) and Lauren Hittner (2000). Wilson is the only Penn gymnast to qualify for Regionals this year. Hittner and current Penn senior Jenn Capasso both qualified last year. The Quakers finished 8-3 in the regular season, second in the Ivy Championships and fourth in ECACs this season.
