Campus Crime Report

Assault * November 11 -- A woman whose affiliation to the University was unknown reported that a young boy rode by on a bicycle, insulted her brother, then punched him in the face on the 4100 block of Spruce Street. The boy fled west on Spruce Street. No injuries were sustained.

Burglary * November 8 -- Police arrested 41-year-old James Barrett at about 3:30 p.m. after observing him on closed circuit security cameras taking 48 cans of soda from a concession stand at Franklin Field at 235 S. 33rd Street. The cans were valued at $96.

Robbery * November 12 -- A female Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania employee reported that a woman approached her on the 4000 block of Ludlow Street at about 6:30 a.m. and demanded money. The woman simulated possession of a weapon and took $21 in cash and house keys from the employee.

Theft * November 11 -- A male University student reported that a video camera was taken from his unattended bag in Irvine Auditorium at 3401 Spruce Street between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The camera was valued at $1,000.

* November 10 -- A woman whose affiliation to the University was unknown reported that the passenger window of her locked Dodge truck, which was parked on the 400 block of South 41st Street, was smashed between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Taken was a CD player and several CDs, together valued at $725.

* November 10 -- A man whose affiliation to the University was unknown reported that two unattended tennis rackets and several tennis balls were taken from the lobby of the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter at 3231 Walnut Street at about 3:10 p.m. The items were valued together at $300.

* November 9 -- A male employee of the Veterinary Hospital reported that a computer chip was taken from the hospital between November 1 and November 9. The value of the chip is unknown.

* November 8 -- A male University student reported that his bicycle was taken from a bike rack in front of Bennett Hall at 3340 Walnut Street between noon and 7 p.m. The bike was valued at $100.
