UA and class boards elections begin today This year's elections are slightly more competitive than last year's as 63 candidates will be running for the 25 seats on the Undergraduate Assembly. The Wharton race will be the tightest for UA elections, with 16 candidates running for the four available spots. In the College of Arts and Sciences, 36 students will be running for 16 openings. And 10 Engineering students will be applying for four spots, while there is one nursing student running for one seat. Approximately 63 students will be running for the class boards, with roughly 23 sophomores, 23 juniors and 17 seniors in the race, said NEC Vice Chairwoman of Elections Teresa Lee, a Wharton and Engineering junior. The Nominations and Elections Committee will be sponsoring its annual "Get Out the Vote!" promotion of elections on College Green this afternoon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students will be able to eat pizza passed out by candidates, as well as enjoy the various performing arts groups that will perform at today's event. Elections will conclude next Wednesday and the winners will be announced after the NEC's Fair Practices Code hearing on Thursday evening. -- Lily Nonomiyaa
