W. Hoops falls to Storm in exhibition The Quakers were led by a double-double from 1999 Ivy League Player of the Year Diana Caramanico. The junior from Blue Bell, Pa., tallied 24 points on 7-for-20 shooting from the field to go along with 17 rebounds. Penn's other tri-captains, Mandy West and Erin Ladley, were the only other Quakers in double figures. West, Penn's lone senior, chipped in 14 points to go with four assists. She hit a 21-foot three-pointer to open the game but connected on just 1-of-9 from downtown after that shot. Ladley had 11 points on the afternoon and was an impressive 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Penn had a 33-30 halftime lead and actually shot better in the second half than in the first half. The Storm, however, shot a blazing 13-for-29 in the second half to take the victory. The Quakers open their regular season on November 20 at the Palestra against Temple. -- Jesse Spector
