Each fall, the Glee Club holds a concert with chorales from the leading women's colleges. They perform regularly at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York and at Veterans Stadium to sing for the Phillies and Eagles. The Glee Club performs every sort of choral and a cappella music running the gamut from Bach to Broadway to compositions commissioned expressly for the Glee Club. They also have two a capella groups within the club: Pennchants and Penn Pipers. If you sing or play an instrument, join the singing, dancing men of Penn and sing to the world! Our mission is to educate and entertain the Penn community and the wider community by performing the works of composers and artists of African descent. The group's repertoire has included music from such diverse genres as reggae, jazz, gospel and rhythm and blues, and from such diverse artists/composers as Michael Jackson, Take 6, Zhane, Bob Marley, Arrested Development and Duke Ellington. It is the goal of the performance troupe to bring education, as well as entertainment, to the University of Pennsylvania campus. This education and entertainment is grounded in African culture.
