Last month, the Preseason NIT field was announced for men's basketball, and the Quakers will travel to Lexington to face SEC powerhouse Kentucky in the first round. As if one SEC foe isn't enough, Penn is also trying to schedule a date in December with last year's SEC champions, Auburn. The wrestling team, meanwhile, will grapple with Penn State for Keystone State supremacy at the Palestra on December 11 and will take part in the National Team Dual Meet Championships in January. The Quakers received the first of seven at-large bids to the elite 16-team field. The site for this year's National Duals is Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center. Not to be outdone, coach Michael Dowd significantly increased the difficulty of the women's tennis schedule. Last year, Penn posted a 19-2 record, but that mark will be hard to top this season, as the Quakers will face nine top-65 teams -- including 1999 NCAA champion Stanford.
