Wharton announces tix distribution for Buffett According to Beth Hagovsky, associate director of Wharton undergraduate affairs, 950 tickets will be handed out free of charge on a "first-come, first-serve basis" to anyone in the University community with a valid PennCard. To ensure that tickets are distributed fairly, Hagovsky said a line will be formed in the Annenberg Center courtyard outside the Zellerbach Auditorium beginning around 3:15 p.m. on April 21, the day of the event. Each person will be limited to one ticket. Hagovsky also confirmed the format for the event, which is set to begin around 4:15 p.m. After a 10-minute opening speech, Buffett will entertain audience questions during a question-and-answer session which officials expect to last over an hour. "The theme for his speech is very open-ended," Hagovsky said. "Buffett wanted [the event] to be very student-generated." For members of the University community who are unable to attend the lecture in person, Wharton officials said a videotape of the speech will be available for one week, beginning April 23, at the Wharton Computing and Information Technology center in Steinberg-Dietrich Hall. Buffett -- who dropped out of Wharton as a sophomore in 1948 -- is the chief executive officer of the financial holding company Berkshire Hathaway and the second-wealthiest man in America behind Microsoft's Bill Gates. -- Eric Dash
