Temple U. renames law school for large donor The James E. Beasley School of Law was named by Temple's trustees "in grateful recognition of [Beasley's] philanthropy," according to a statement released by the university last week. The money will be used for financial aid, named professorships and educational programs, all in Temple's Law School. The North Philadelphia school is not revealing the amount of the gift. Beasley said in the statement that he was "fortunate enough" to have been able to finance his own children's educations and now wants "to help the children of parents not able to do the same." A World War II veteran and former truck driver, Beasley graduated from Temple Law School in 1956 and is now a prominent Philadelphia attorney. His firm, Beasley, Casey & Erbstein, is based in Center City. -- Jeffrey Joseph
